Unit 3: Describing my life




Hello Guys, today we are going to learn about the family and common adjectives. Let's begin!

The family is very important in our life. Let´s see the videos to understand the family members tree.





Furthermore, the adjectives are the words that give characteristics to the noun. Let´s see some exemples throug next video.

ACTIVITY 1: FAMILY MEMBERS TREE

In this activity, you must follow next steps to learn about your family:

Step 1: You must check the blog created by the teacher, where you watch the videos about simple present tense and present progressive. 


Step 2: You must do the exercises about adjectives and family in educational software Duolingo: https://es.duolingo.com/


Step 3: You must pay attention to the teacher when she explains in the blackboard about sentences with the family and adjective vocabulary.



Step 4: You must do a family member tree in a pice of paperboard. Then, you must expose it to your classmates.


ACTIVITY 2: DESCRIBING MY LIFE

In this activity, you must follow next steps to learn about your family:

Step 1: You must check the blog created by the teacher, where you watch the videos about the different topics.


Step 2: You must pay attention to the teacher when she explains in the blackboard about imple present tense and present progressive.

Step 4: You must write a text maximun a page about your life, taking account the topics of the units 1, 2 and 3.

Unit 2: Introducing myself!


Hello Guys, today we are going to learn about introduce yourself. Let's begin with some important topic to learn, simple present tense and present progressive.


Simple present tense
Simple present is a tense with different uses. We can use simple present tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly. Moreover, we use it in habitual actions or occurrences.

In the picture, we can see other differents ways to use the simple present tense

On the other hand, when we conjugate the verbs, we must add s, ies or es to the third person (she, he and it).

For example: Carlos (he) talkwith his mother. The bird (it) flies in the sky. Mary (she) watches tv.

In the next pictures, we can see a lot of examples about conjugaison of the verbs in simple present tense.

Furthermore, simple present tense is used with irregular verbs like to be and to have. Let`s see its conjugation:

Present progressive

Use of the Present Progressive

1.1. actions happening at the moment of speaking
Peter is reading a book now.

1.2. fixed plans in the near future
We are going to Basel on Saturday.

1.3. temporary actions
I am working in Rome this month.

1.4. actions happening around the moment of speaking (longer actions)
My friend is preparing for his exams.

1.5. trends
More and more people are using their computers to listen to music.

1.6. repeated actions which are irritating to the speaker (with always, constantly, forever)
Andrew is always coming late.

To be (am, are, is) + Infinitive + -ing

If you want to learn about daily routines, you must follow next steps:


Step 1: You must answer the question: What activities do you do in your day?. Then, you must watch next video:




Step 2: You must pronounce and sing the song.


Step 3: You must go to the blackboard and translate to spanish each sentence of the song. Then, you must pronounce it in english.


Step 4: You must write in your notebook the song and memorize it, learning the daily routines.
